Tuna Tacos

I am super exhausted. I worked out from 6:30 to 8:30 tonight. I did my regular workout and then I went to yoga. Squats to hip poses - my poor legs. I stayed up way too late last night watching a PBS broadcast about baseball. It was really interesting. Of course, after I watched that I went to bed and read my 2012 Baseball season preview...until midnight. Today was a rather slow day, but tomorrow, oh, it is going to be BUSY! I am already dreading it.

My eyes are literally falling shut as I am typing.

But first, I will tell you about the new things I tried today. I was at a loss as to what to make for lunch today. I had no bread and no meat thawed. I saw my cans of tuna and my stomach gurgled. I figured I would try a tuna fish sandwich in a corn tortilla - hey, people eat fish tacos all the time! I hesitantly made one and tested the result. It was so yummy! I just added some salad greens and the tuna salad onto the tortilla and had a great lunch! I'm glad my lack of groceries resulted in something yummy!

Waste of Time

I haven't written in a while and I don't really feel I have anything to say at the moment. My brain and body are fatigued.
Big Bang Theory and folding laundry will have me out in no time!

Addicted to Sun

I can't stay too long to write since it is getting dark and I rode my bike!  It was so lovely out today - 77 degrees today.  If you don't know, that is tropical weather for Wisconsin this time of year.  It's hard to sit at a desk all day and watch it pass by out the window.

I booked it to yoga last night since my back locks up horribly once a month.  I was the only one in class again, so I asked if we could do poses specifically for stretching out the lower back.  My back felt so good by the time I left.  I was fantastic.

I got told the other day about being able to make your own butter.  I am interested to try this - apparently, all you do is whip heavy cream until you get a blob in the middle that splatters all the whey around.  It sounds really interesting.  I don't use butter that often and apparently it doesn't really pay to buy from the stores heavy cream at $4.99 when butter is $1.99.  Maybe I'll just have to buy a cow :D

Off to ride home and continue reading the Deception of the Emerald Ring.  These books are so addictive!

Deliverance from A

I am so exhausted today.  I went to bed earlier than usual last night and then I woke up early and tossed and turned for the rest of the morning.   I am completely exhausted again.  It was completely lovely to leave work at 6:30 and have the sun still shining.  It would have been even better if I hadn't been starting a migraine.  Luckily, Dr K got to my neck and adjusted the heck out of my neck.  He also worked my jaw a bit.  I have the lovely ability to get a cold sore in my gums - aka, my gums puff up like crazy and hurt. I have been chewing with the other half of my mouth and thus the tenderness.  Anyways, the headache was mostly gone by the start of PLL.  Next week we find out who A is!  Woot - I cinny wait!

I have been reading several books lately.  Working towards finishing one soon.  I'm reading the book  How to Be a Domestic Goddess and then The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane

Hungover from the Hangover

Currently checking out game prices to Brewer games.  A preseason Cubs game just started playing and it had me interested.

Anyways, I got two free movies from the redbox the other night.  I am waiting to go home and watch Midnight in Paris.  The other, The Hangover Part II, was a waste of time.  It was basically a change of location with the same stupid stuff happening - a different groom and a different "lost" person were added to change up things a bit.  The only really funny and interesting part of the movie was when Mike Tyson came out to sing and then harassed Stu about his tattoo.  Everything else was either an over share or exactly the same as the last movie.  So boring and redundant.  I'm sorry to the writers of that script, but obviously you had no creative ambition!  Please people, do not waste your time with this piece of garbage.

My Squishy

My brain is squishy.  I can't think of a thing.  After this week of hell at work, I'm ready for the weekend.  I am ready for some down time.  I'm ready to put my feet up and relax.  Sometimes I feel that it's the doctor and I who do a majority of the work.  Not to mention, the new system we have sucks.

I am wondering how programmers work.  I can't imagine doing their jobs, but how hard is it keep things universal through out the whole program?  How can you market your product as a complete package, when it isn't?  I'm sick of "apps" and errors and "it is coming...soon."  I really want to give a big F - U to the developers of this program!  Running the office has gotten 10 times harder and our hours longer.  My days went from 8 1/2 hours a day to 9 1/2 or 10 hours.  Today I worked 10 1/4 hours today, mainly because you can't find errors in closing as fast as you could before.

Mixed Greens

Today I got a solo yoga session.  I was the only person to show up to class today, so I got my very own class.  Oh course, she choose a hip lesson.  OUCH!  It was a good session none the less.  I was sweating like crazy by the end.

So I have to report on how the slow cooker meal turned out that I attempted last week.  The chicken was ok, a bit bland, and the rice was somewhere between burnt and mushy (depending on which side of the crock pot you got it from.  I think I might know how to fix it, but I'm going to keep my changes a secret until I give it a whirl.

I also did something that makes choosing a healthy salad every once in a while really easy.  I had bought some spinach and "artisan" greens, so I cleaned them up with my new salad spinner and mixed them together in a bowl.  I then took handfuls of the mixture and put it in ziplock baggies with a piece of paper towel to keep the moisture down.  I also cut up some carrots and cucumbers that I can grab some and toss on top of my greens before adding my Honey Raspberry vinaigrette.  It makes a pretty good veggie addition to a meal.

Retched Hamburger

Yesterday was the first day a book has ever made me physically ill. I was laying in bed reading The Help and I began to retch. The chapter where Minny finds her boss having a miscarriage in the bathroom. I was so sick. I hate the scent of raw hamburger meat to begin with, but when Minny compared the scent of the dead fetus and all the blood to the scent of raw hamburger, I about hurled. I was literally queasy for the rest of the day. All I can think is: Damn, Kathyrn Stockett is a FANTASTIC writer if she can physically make me ill with her words.

I am almost finished with the book, which is good news since book club is this week. I'm ready to head home and do some more reading until it is my bedtime.

Spies and Screwdrivers

Yesterday I got a chance to meet up with a friend. We had brunch and some drinks. I had a lovely screwdriver. I was really kind of tempted to get a Beermosa; however, I'd like to try a Mimosa first. We were sitting chatting away and all of the sudden were like - yikes, our movie is about to start. We then rushed off to the theater to watch This Means War.

Besides - YUM - the movie was actually kind of cute. The two spy friends end up meeting the same girl and liking her. She is really in to Tuck (the British guy) but end up liking the ladies man FDR. The two spies are best friends and are currently "grounded" due to a mission going a bit wrong. They spend their time grounded in a competition to see which one of them the girl will choose. They are so wrapped up in this that they don't recognize there is a big threat coming their way. Etc, etc, etc - girl has to decide things go boom. And from then on you'll just have to watch it and figure out more.

I also re-watched the Addams Family movies this weekend. Oh my goodness. There are things in there that my young self missed the first time around. Gomez...obviously there for all the mothers who had to watch the movie. Same goes for Morticia - every woman wanted to be her and every man's jaw hit the ground. The movies are beyond hilarious. I laughed so hard when I realized the snotty little blonde girl (Amanda) was the one who plays Harmony in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The harmony hut intrigues and yet disturbs me - I also completely love the Thanksgiving play. Oh the song "Eat Me" is a classic for sure.

Shufflin'

My life seriously takes some turns every once and a while.  And right now I am totally loving knowing a DJ and getting all my requests on the radio.  People in River Falls are probably going to hate me!  I seriously just asked for Laura Marling and boy does he deliver...I'm listening to it now! muhahaha.

Relationships - Other than my father sending me into a half naked man's apartment this last weekend and then saying, "I have to do something to get you a man," nothing much new.  I don't like being single, but I don't mind it either.  I like it less and less since it apparently is linked to how much my parents take pride in me.  I did have a scare this week though - my dad was having pains in his chest during the night.  I got woken up at 2 in the morning to come over and "help."  I'm actually not really sure what I was supposed to do, maybe just support mom.  I got there right away and grabbed the blood pressure cuff.  Of course, it didn't work.  Finally, around 3:30am I got to go home since the nurse hotline said it wasn't anything that needed immediate medical attention.  Turns out his rib popped out of place.  I am not sure how one does that!  How does that even happen?  Adam had his taken out, but what do you have to do to just misalign it.

Health - I actually got through a yoga class and was still able to walk for the rest of the week!  Yay, I'm so proud of myself.
