The Time Traveler's Wife

I read The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. This book follows the lives of Henry and Clare. Henry is chronologically challenged...a.k.a. he time travels. He jumps forwards and backwards in time; sometimes only being away for a few minutes to hours and days away. He begins to bump into Clare, his wife, while time travelling. That doesn't seem all that weird, except his older self goes and visits Clare from the time she is 6 until she is 18. This story follows their romance, their life together and apart, and how Henry's remarkable ability to time travel causes tension in their relationship.

I really liked the book and I am now interested in getting the movie. I really like the story and how it still seemed to flow despite the jumping around throughout time. It helped that they would state the dates and the ages of Clare and Henry when there were flops in time. The story dealt with lots of hard subjects - like love, how and when it forms, self-loathing, grief, difficulties of dealing with miscarriages, suicide. It was just a great story that dealt with a lot of big issues and in a new and creative manner. I think it is a great read and well worth the time!
